Weeki Wachee Springs State Park, Weeki Wachee, Florida
July, 2011 to Present

Weeki Wachee Springs, the world famous City of Mermaids, has been home to underwater mermaid themed shows for more than 60 years. Today at the park, guests may still enjoy the show in a 400-seat underwater theater which offers panoramic views into the park’s namesake first magnitude spring. In addition, Weeki Wachee Springs offers boat tours on the beautiful Weeki Wachee River, a live animal show, and swimming in the main spring at Buccaneer Bay, where seasonally, water slides and other attractions also operate. Run for much of its history as a privately owned attraction, Weeki Wachee Springs became a Florida State Park in 2008, preserving the park’s rich cultural history.

Cape Leisure provides all food and retail services for Weeki Wachee Springs State Park, operating two gift shops, a counter service restaurant and a number of additional food concessions and mobile carts. Cape Leisure also operates Paddling Adventures, the only canoe and kayak operation located directly on the river’s headwaters, all under contract with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.

The Gift Locker offers a wide assortment of park and mermaid-themed merchandise, including figurines, dolls, toys, tee shirts and souvenirs. Gifts Ahoy caters to swimmers within the Buccaneer Bay section of the park, with swim toys, sunscreens, sunglasses, swim suits and pirate-themed souvenirs.

Guests may choose from a wide variety of hot and cold food entrees at the Mermaid Galley, a counter service restaurant with indoor, air conditioned seating located near the rear of the park. Captain’s Quarters offers hand dipped ice cream, bakery items, soft drinks and coffee. Pirate's Grub, located near the water slides at Buccaneer Bay, features hot items such as hamburgers, hot dogs, fries and chicken tenders, as well as cold drinks. The Tiki Bar, also at Buccaneer Bay, offers beer, wine, wine-based frozen drinks and soft drinks. Catered events for 10 to 120, including civic and social events, corporate meetings and weddings may be booked at the Enchanted Mermaid Banquet Hall.

Paddling Adventures is the only Canoe and Kayak outfitter located directly on the headwaters of the Weeki Wachee River. The rental building and boat ramp are located outside the gates of the Weeki Wachee attraction but utilize a common parking entrance. Paddlers enjoy a five mile trip down the pristine Weeki Wachee, much of which is located within the State Park boundaries. The trip down river takes approximately 3 hours. Paddling Adventures staff meet guests downstream at Roger’s Park and transports them back to the start point and their vehicles at the conclusion of their journey.
